Mapula Lodge is situated a large tree island surrounded by seasonal floodplains in the remote part of the Okavango Delta, allowing night game drives and walking safaris, as well as the usual 4x4 game drives, mokoro and motor launch excursions in the Okavango Delta.
Mapula Lodge is positioned on the edge of seasonal floodplains along the upper reaches of the famous Selinda Spillway, the river that connects the Okavango Delta to the Linyanti. The diverse habitats support a huge range of wildlife in a remote area, away from the crowds of tourists.
Guest can book flights from Maun to Mapula Lodge and enjoy a very scenic route over the Okavango Delta, Botswana and it takes about 40 minutes. There is a luggage restriction of 10 kilograms per person in soft luggage.
All other flight connections are available on request to the Okavango Delta. Mapula has its own airstrip named Xaraki, only 15 minutes from the camp.
April to October is the best time of year for water and mokoro safaris as water levels are at their highest. Mid-20s temperatures and sunshine-filled skies make this a pleasant time to visit. Mapula Lodge offers excellent game viewing throughout the year.
