Tuli Journals - Tuli Block Travel Guide

Tuli Safari Journals: October 18:

‘The sky was a dusted pink, a combination of the season and the time of day, as the giant red ball that was the setting sun sank toward the horizon. Baobabs turned to silhouettes and the red earth darkened .... a light breeze carried the dust of the back end of the dry season to me .... and then all fell silent .... until a herd of elephants crashed through the evening calm...'

Land of the ancients

The Tuli area is described as the land of the giants because of the presence of baobabs and elephants in numbers, and the occurrence of the world's largest antelope, the eland, and the world's largest bird in the ostrich - and though this title is well suited I prefer to use the term land of the ancients, for here is an Africa that was thought to be long gone.
It is in Tuli where the ancient rhythm of the continent is heard in almost every moment. The baobabs on the red earth add to the idea of ancients still sharing their wisdom with the wild creatures. Tuli is an experience to savour, an experience that will linger forever on the edge of your memory.

Tuli Safari Journals: January 21

'The land was alive - flowers and grass burst with fullness as birds flittered above the green, young antelope of every hue skipped around as the adults grazed .... it was the middle of the rainy season and the delicate beauty of Tuli was showing itself - a far cry from the haunting beauty of the dry season. Tuli is an amazing place in any season'.By Leigh Kemp
