Guests have a number of habitats to explore whether it’s the floodplains and grasslands of the Delta in search of the Big Five, the sinuous waterways surrounded by dense forests and lush vegetation or the lagoons clustered with water lilies. This is a bird watchers paradise with great variety due to the array of habitats.
Xudum Delta Lodge is open all year round and located in a private concession of 25 000 hectares, in the south eastern Moremi Wildlife Reserve. Summers are hot and wet and fall between October and April. Winters are dry and cool with chilly nights and fall between May and September. Magnificent afternoon thundershowers occur between late December and March, which attract many migrant birds.
Guests can take regular scheduled flights to Maun in Botswana. From Maun there is a light aircraft flight to Xudum airstrip taking 25 minutes, followed by a 20 minute game drive to Xudum Delta Lodge. Guests can also fly from Kasane to Xudum airstrip which takes 90 minutes.
