Traditionally in the summer wet season you’d spot Lion, Hyena and Cheetah standing-by for the influx of migrating Wildebeest and Zebra. You’d also see Buffalo and seasonal birdlife on a Savuti safari in Chobe National Park.
The dry winter months focus on the Elephant herds and antelope species. Lion, Black-backed Jackal, Bat-eared Foxes and possibly Wild Dog set the scene for interesting encounters.
Now with the Savute Channel flowing again after 25 years, new patterns emerge and cycles adapt. At Camp Savuti you can watch life unfold on the banks of the Savute Channel and then explore the surrounding terrain on guided game drives. For a change of scenery you could visit the rock art site at Gobatsa Hills.
