Seba Camp is located in the private Abu concession area, on the western side of the Okavango Delta, Botswana. Matsaudi / Abu Airstrip is a short drive from the lodge. Seba Camp is named after an Elephant which was historically released from nearby Abu Camp.
As a baby, Seba starred in the Walt Disney movie ‘Whispers’, which was filmed in the area. The word ‘seba’ means whisper in the local dialect. He and a number of other Elephant that were released back into the wild, have now formed their own herd near Seba Camp.
The interaction between Seba’s herd and the wild Elephant herds in the area provide a rich resource for research teams from Bristol University in the United Kingdom. Guests can observe the researchers at work, often in close proximity to the Elephant herds in the Okavango Delta, Botswana.
