Okavango Delta Safari at Splash Camp

Splash Camp boasts both permanent water and seasonal flood plains offering both land and water-based activities including game drives, mokoro excursions, boat safaris, seasonal fishing and walking safaris.

Game Drives in the Delta

Game drives at Splash Camp are led by both a guide and tracker. In the mornings and late afternoons/evenings, with two skilled sets of eyes on the look out for the action, the chances of game sightings are incredibly good.

As the camp is located in a private concession, vehicles can go off-road in search of the usual favourites such as lions, hyena, leopards and wild dogs.

Fishing at Splash Camp

Fishing is also offered at Splash throughout the year, aside from January and February as this is peak breeding season. Basic equipment is supplied by the camp, but avid fly-fishers are advised to bring their own equipment.

Of the 70 species in the Delta, the most common are Tilapia, Bass and Bream.

Mokoro and Boat Cruises

A guided mokoro trip is the quintessential Delta experience. Relaxing and peaceful, you can effortlessly soak up your surroundings. Without the hum of the motor, its one of the least intrusive methods to engage with nature.

Double-deck boat rides are also available and are great for covering more ground along the waterways. From August-September and January-February, visits are conducted to the nearby heronries in the Godikwe and Gcobega lagoons.

Step out into the Delta

Aside from game drives and mokoro rides, Splash Camp also offers guided nature walks all year round. On these walks, an area and route is chosen at the guide's discretion, with a safe distance kept between guests and animals at all times. For added safety, the guides are armed.
