How to get to Delta Camp

This intimate and informal safari camp is located on a small islet close to the southwestern edge of Chiefs Island, the heart of the Okavango Delta.

The emphasis is on peace and tranquillity (stalking game on foot provides all the excitement one could wish for) and guests are actively encouraged to visit the Delta's local village, home to the camps guides, to interact with the people there.

The adventurous may opt to take their guide and mokoro into the Okavango to camp out wherever they find themselves a wilderness experience. A full range of camping equipment is kept in readiness and the kitchen will provide several meals for you. Your guide will set up camp and build the fire for you once your campsite has been chosen.

Delta Camp is accessible by light aircraft only - from Maun a 20-minute hop over the dry outskirts of the town and then into the lush green landscape of islands, channels and floodplains where Delta Camp is situated. There is a strict luggage limit of 10kg per person, in soft, hold all type bags, on the air transfer. Excess luggage may be stored at the office in Maun. On landing, you will be met at the airstrip by your guide and brought by mokoro (dug-out canoe) to Delta Camp - a journey of about half an hour and the perfect introduction to life in the Okavango.
