Activities at Jacks Camp

Guests enjoying their Botswana safari in Makgadikgadi Pans can look forward to game drives, quad biking and Bushmen guided bush walks during a stay at Jack's Camp.

Game Drives

Game drives are ideal for spotting a myriad of African wildlife. All game drives are led by graduate students who team up with experienced Bushmen to bring the best possible safari. Free-roaming wildlife including zebra, wildebeest and other species can be spotted on action-packed excursions. Flamingo and other migratory bird species flock to this area each year during the wet season, making it the ideal time for birding enthusiasts to visit. During the wet season the area features abundant game and predators including the black-maned Kalahari lion.

Bushmen Walks

The rugged bush can be explored by foot. Join a team of qualified rangers and Zu/’hoasi Bushmen for an epic bush walk. They will share their personal bush knowledge about the magnificent creatures that inhabit the area as well as the diverse species of flora. Bush walking safaris are ideal for close encounters with Meerkats and other Makgadikgadi wildlife.

Quad Biking

Venture into the centre of the Makgadikgadi, on 4wd quad bikes where guests can explore remote archaeological sites, discovering fossil beds of extinct giant zebra and hippo. This is a great way to get away from everything as you will be travelling across the pans where there is nothing in site, no trees, no grass, just desert.
