Tau Pan Camp is situated on the edge of an ancient sand dune overlooking Tau Pan in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Botswana. The largest sand basin in the world, the Central Kalahari is not technically a desert, as it receives too much rain fall. The region is home to over 400 species of plants and many animals. After the summer rains the region is home to some of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa.
Tau Pan can be accessed by road. You need to be an experienced wilderness driver and have a 4x4 vehicle to reach the camp. However you will head out on guided game viewing activities once you have reached camp.
Most guests reach the camp by flying in on a light air-craft. The camp can be accessed by air from Maun, Kasane or Victoria Falls. The airstrip is approximately 5kms from camp and the flight time from Maun will be approximately 50 minutes. Please speak to one of our Destination Specialists about arranging transfers.
