The Northern Tuli Game Reserve, Botswana is situated in the easternmost corner of the country bordering Zimbabwe and South Africa. Tuli Safari Lodge is close to the Pont Drift border post and accessible by air and road.

The closest border facilities for those arriving by road from South Africa are at Pont Drift, opening hours 08h00-16h00. Border facilities are also provided at the Limpopo Valley Airfield for those arriving by air.
Charter flights to the Limpopo Valley Airfield (5 minutes drive from the lodge) can be arranged There are regular scheduled flights (SA Airlink) between Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport and Polokwane (Pietersberg) which is approximately 2 hours drive from the lodge. Another option is with the Flying Mission from Gaborone (Fridays and Sundays) – The flights are timed to coincide with arrivals / departures from Johannesburg and Maun, details on request from your Siyabona consultant.
Road transfers can be arranged from Johannesburg, Polokwane, Gaborone or other locations to Tuli Safari Lodge. Please note that the river crossing and border process can take a while, depending on the number of people at the border at the time. Please inform the lodge if you are following a specific schedule so that transfers are handled timeously.
During the ‘wet season’ October to March please contact the lodge prior to travel to check on the status of the Limpopo and other rivers. During the wet season a 4x4 is recommended, and during the dry season, Tuli Safari Lodge is accessible in a normal car if the wheel base is not too low.
Driving from Johannesburg guests should follow the N1 to Polokwane then the R521 to Alldays At Alldays take a right turn signed to Pont Drift Cars can be left at the Pont Drift border post, and the short road transfer to the lodge is free of charge. Tuli Safari Lodge rangers meet guests at the South Africa side of the Pont Drift border post. If you prefer to drive to the lodge, the lodge is approx 5km / 3 miles away and signed from the Botswana border post. If guests wish to bring their vehicles into Botswana when the Limpopo River is flowing strongly, the crossing can be made by causeway at Platjan border post (open 06h00-18h00) which is about a 1 hour drive from Tuli Safari Lodge Please note that the Limpopo River crossing at Platjan is on a 3 metre / 9.8 foot (approx.) wide causeway. If the Limpopo River is flowing too strongly, it cannot be crossed. In this case, the alternative then is to drive down to Martin’s Drift which is about a 3 hour drive from Tuli Safari Lodge.
