This Rivers and Islands Safari Experience portrays a part of the Okavango Delta where rivers and lagoons surround wooded islands creating a truly beautiful wilderness that could quite easily be mistaken as the blueprint for Eden.

A range of activities including game drives, night drives, boating and dugout canoe trips will ensure that you enjoy an overall picture of this fascinating and incredibly beautiful part of the Okavango Delta. The safari guides will share their experiences through their passion and knowledge.

But apart from all this beauty there is a great diversity of wildlife to be viewed throughout the year. There are surprises around every corner and this exciting Botswana safari will leave you awed.

Day 1: Johannesburg - Maun - Okavango

Arriving in Maun from Johannesburg you will be transferred by light aircraft to your tented bush camp on the South Western floodplains of the Okavango where you will spend the next 2 nights marvelling at the wonders of this incredible place.

The afternoon activity will introduce you to an area you never believed existed. You could have time for sundowners in the bush before you head back to the bush camp and an African inspired dinner under the stars.

Day 2: Okavango

An early morning wake-up call followed by a light breakfast will precede the morning activity. Many amazing discoveries will be enhanced by the knowledge and passion of your guide who knows the area intimately. The beauty of the place is overpowering and the wildlife may seem like a distraction but the experiences all add up to what will be one of your most memorable African safari experiences.

Returning to the bush camp for brunch there will be time for some relaxation and reflection before the afternoon activity. There may be an opportunity for an evening drive which will allow you to see some of the nocturnal creatures of the Okavango before returning to the safari camp for dinner and a night cap around the log fire.

Day 3: Okavango - Maun - Johannesburg

Enjoy the last day of your River and Islands Okavango Package. There will be time for a final early morning activity and breakfast in this beautiful wilderness.

You will be transferred to the airstrip for your return flight to Maun and the onward connection through to Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport.
