Safari in Vumbura Concession

The Vumbura concession is in the extreme north of the Okavango Delta in Botswana, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve and very unique because of the wide variety of habitats and species. It is being leased from the neighbouring community and encompass an enormous 60 000 hectares. The water levels in the Vumbura Concession changes each year depending on the annual floods from central Africa.

The dense mopane bushveld and vast open flood plains offers spectacular game viewing and birding opportunities all year round. You can see the big five on this concession as well as wild dogs, cheetah, African wildcat, giraffe and hippo.Many type of buck as well as vervet monkeys, chacma baboons and zebra can also be spotted.Villagers in the local villages have been granted the rights to this area, which gives them direct benefits from the wildlife by allowing them employment opportunities, training and concession fees.
